Have you heard?

So I was feeding the fish today, and decided to watch them eat from above.
And I realized, you can hear them chew, and it's actually pretty loud!
CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH.
Has anyone else heard this? I thought it pretty cool considering I never would have expected them to chomp so hard. XD

yeah it is so cool to hear that. I find I hear it more with crunchier foods like pellets though. soft stuff like bloodworms or flakes aren't as crunchy.

Only some of mine are loud. And I only noticed the crunch with pellets, not frozen food.

Eh...not exactly. Bettas don't really have "small teeth." I forgot what the actual name is called, but they put the food in the back of their throat and it is like a garbage truck would when they crush the garbage.

I think I've seen that when removing the hooks from fish we caught? Sometimes the hook gets caught in that thing at the back..

All the time... one of the reasons I started crushing pellets before feeding.... (the noise draws the attention of my dog Chai.... she likes to press her nose up against the glass and other than Flagg and Smudge.... my bettas HATE it and will hide for the rest of the day)
