Help with Hornwort!

I am removing my hornwort from Ludendorff's tank tonight. However, can someone please give me some hints on how to get growth back on it?? It's supposed to be a beginner hard to kill plant and now mine looks like floating twig mass. It's dying
So I don't want to give up on it yet, because then there's no hope for me!!!

I would place it in a container of water in a sunny window and see if that will help it any....hornwort can be really bad about dropping its needles-especially when you don't have the correct lights and sometimes it can be pretty picky about the water itself

What kind of lights are you using, age of bulbs, kelvin, watts and photoperiod

Oh.. Perhaps I should throw it out then.. I don't use special lights. The desk lamp here on my desk was what I used first but then a few days ago I moved it to free float in the taller tank in the kitchen window. We don't get direct sunlight down here because we live in a basement apartment. I doubt I really want to keep it anymore anyway, the way the needles drop off. Too hard to keep clean- I don't have a siphon. :/ Thanks for your help ^^
