Today while at Walmart with my younger sister (to get a present) I stopped to browse the bettas.... (of course) ..... as I was looking at them.... I realized... many of these bettas will not live to see a new home... and many more will not survive in a new home due to neglect and improper care...
So I decided to do something.
I took a picture of every betta there.... and here they are..
This is to the Walmart bettas
The bettas who are unique in their own way
The bettas who are waiting
The bettas who are "bland"... their colors washed out from stress
The bettas who are thin and cold as they sit on a shelf
The bettas who have no hope
The bettas who are to weak to move
The bettas who are trying to stay strong
The bettas who struggle to stay afloat
But most of all
This is to the Walmart bettas who have fought the odds and have survived this place, who have gone on to a new home, with heated tanks, clean water, and daily care....
So as a challenge I ask you, my fellow betta lovers, visit your local Walmart, take pictures of the bettas, their conditions, and of any lost, and post them here.... and if you have the space, the time, and the money.... rescue one of these and remember where he came from
