Shrimp buddies?

I've got the baby Biorb which is a 4 gallon round tank. & was thinking about getting a few ghost shrimp in a week or two. I got the tank & Goblin on Sunday as a birthday present so I've gotta cycle the tank with the fish in it. Not the most ideal, but I used the stress zyme in the tank and it seems to be working nicely. :)
Otherwise, I was wondering how many ghost shrimp to get max for my size tank?
I'm going to only buy one at first, that way if he decides their an expensive snack I'm not gonna mind too much. He's pretty skittish though, he runs from his reflection & likes to hang out down in this cave and lounge on the silk plants in the back of the tank.

I'm considering getting some red cherry shrimp in my new 5 gallon. I've never had them before and someone suggested getting some kind of snail to test out the betta fish's agression since snails can protect themselves with their shell. just a thought

I would recommend about 2 ghost shrimp per gallon.
So, how about 8?
