Stupid betta bug...I just saw a beautiful marblish CT at petco...fell in love...hid him behind the others...should I ask my Mom when she gets back later? I have an extra 5 gal...

Also, I washed the 5 gal out with burning hot water and 2 cups of vinegar, let it soak a couple days, and then rinsed the heck outta it with equally hot water and dried it really good with paper towels. Is this ok? or..?
(PS I washed it because it previously held 3 male guppies that were very messy and one died from a mysterious disease, so..)

That stinks, my parents really don't care about how many fish I have as long as I can take care of them all properly. My dad likes aquariums so he doesn't even care. In fact, he got me decorations and the gravel I have in Makoto's tank just yesterday. I think that I should save up to get him an aquarium for his birthday on November 1st. It gives me plenty of time.

Lucky!! My Mom thinks they're icky, but she likes my bettas xP I guess we really don't have room for anymore tanks...But I could find room! xD

I had no room for anymore tanks after getting my first 10 gallon and it was mostly because I didn't have enough outlets to plug things in with. I re-arranged my entire bedroom and POOF and opening on my computer desk came that's now where my second 10 gallon sits. Sometimes it takes a lot of effort just to be approved.

Too bad you couldn't get him. When I lived with my parents, my mom was the one who got me into bettas really. She got one of those vases with a peace lily for a present and we learned how to care for the fish better and such... so she always let me have a few tanks of bettas as long as I took care of them. Now that I'm grown up (25) and married... I have to get permission from my husband, LOL. Luckily he doesn't mind my betta obsession and is actually encouraging it and offered to help me do water changes! LOL

lol!! I'm 50 years old and live with my mom and she doesn't like my fish. lol
