Sorority Question!

Next weekend I'm getting a 20 gallon tank (I think its bigger, (my grandma isnt an expert on fish tanks ) My plan is to divide off 4 gallons for a Male Betta, then using the remaining 15-16 gallons for a Sorority. How many females can I have in it? Its going to be planted partially with live plants and a few fake ones. thank you!

Ok if he can't see them hel be fine. If you dont divide you can probly have more females but dont overload

The male may be fine, just put plenty of tall plants next to the divider to help break up the line of sight. He will eventually get used to seeing the females.

Make sure to have plenty of plants in the sorority- I mean lots and lots, short, medium and tall, all over with plenty of hiding spots.

You can get possibly a couple guppies (same sex to avoid them going nuts), or a couple platies- otherwise most of the "betta safe" fish require schools of 5+.. 16 gallons is a nice size, but you have to make sure the bio load isn't too much for the 20 gallons.

Looking forward to some pictures!
