New Fishy Friend! What type of Betta?

Hey!
So my Firefly isn't doing too great, so I went to the pet store to pick up some bloodworms and smaller sized pellets for him. Of course I checked out the Bettas, usually there are only VT and CT Bettas, this time there was one special guy! I THINK he is a Halfmoon, but I am unsure. I decided I had to have him and now he's home! I named him Dragonfly

Can you help tell me if he is male and what he is.

Sorry for the pics! I will put up better pictures tomorrow, these are from my cellphone

He's beautiful!!! congrats on finding him =D looks like an HM to me, although the only way to tell is to get him to flare. If his tail makes a perfect D shape, then he's a halfmoon. If it doesn't quite reach a "D" shape, then super delta. If it's more of a fan shape, then delta =)

Oh he is definitely Halfmoon! He was flaring at the pet store and in his tank and his tail makes a perfect "D"! Im so excited haha. He is doing WAY better than Firefly, he was already eating last night and exploring like crazy, glad I picked a healthier Betta

Whatever he is, he's amazing Haha. I will be able to post some better/more pictures later today. I do believe I have a picture of him flaring! Can't check as my camera is dead. But I will post more pictures later today!

Hope these pictures help a bit more! Still learning how to use the macro on my camera properly, so sorry if these aren't that great.

I'll try to get some flaring pictures of him, wanted to let him adjust a bit before making him flare haha.

So do these help to show what tail type he might be?

DT/Halfmoon. Sometimes you'll get a halfmoon who is lazy with flaring and only stretches their tail out to a delta. Sometimes a delta will flare so strongly they can improve their finnage to be a halfmoon! Just give him some flare exercise occasionally and see how far the tail goes. :) It looks like he could be either.

Oh awesome! Thanks Once he's been here a bit longer I'll try getting him to flare with a mirror. He's amazing! Already eating and not skittish at all like my other guy.
