Hi I'm new!

I jumped in without really introducing myself! LOL I'm buying tank and stuff tonight but no fish yet.

I'm 27 and live with my husband, 2 kids, and 4 cats. Our fishy will be in our bedroom where kitties are NOT allowed lol so he'll be good and safe (plus we'll have a lid on our tank)

The kids are 8 and 6 and the cats are assorted ages. Oldest is a Maine Coon and I have two Bengals and a Moggy.

I really am not sure what else to say in an introduction?

I'm cycling with using fish food (remember no fish yet) and I planted in two moss balls today. Do you think those moss balls are enough? I really don't want to do too many real plants but someone said that moss balls are super easy and they were on sale at petco!

Hey there, and welcome to the forum :D

Marimo balls are great, but they might slow down the cycle a wee bit since they remove some of the ammonia. I remember I had cycled my second tank with plants, and it cycled a bit slower than expected (a little less than a month), even though I had seeded it with a bit of filter media from my first cycled tank. However, eventually it will cycle so long as the filter
