I do not like the idea of keep changing fishes from one tank to another... (different parameters)!!
Why do not divide your 25 gallons with mesh and give them 12 gallons for each... for a Betta that is a palace...

I have a dragon with my community fish... and it seems to be working... but every Betta is different. I pick the dragon because he has very short tail so it is less chance to be bitten .

A bit off topic but I must admit it's kind of amusing that of all of the Norse, Roman, and Greek gods people name their bettas after, sea gods seem to be the least common.

on topic: No on the community. fancy guppies tend to tick bettas off, certain varieties of molly are very nippy, and if id means iridescent shark, that's a big no (and you need a bigger tank for them from what I'm reading) and even if not...sharks and bettas do not typically make good friends.

+1 to dividing the 25. you could do a community tank on each side of that.
