White growth at base of tail

- This is the only issue he's ever had with me.

I posted about this little guy (?) a while back when we thought it might be lymphocystis. I kept the water clean with the expectation that the growth would pop within a week, but as of recently it's just gotten a bit bigger and seems to be tearing or flaking a bit on one side. Any suggestions? I've never seen anything like this before, and it doesn't seem to be bothering him, so I don't really know what to do about it.

Thats what it looks and sounds like lymphocystis-usually it will pop-ooze-heal over-get bigger-pop-ooze-heal over...repeat....and hopefully it will resolve.... since its a virus-no treatment other than prevention of a secondary infection....

You might want to improve nutrition----good quality varied diet fed in small frequent meals...good nutrition is really important to help maintain and build a good immune response and healing.....

I would also add a second water change to the schedule....you are doing 100% week already-I would add a 50% water only mid week.....

I see. Previously, it was my understanding that it would pop once and then heal, which is why I posted again. I can definitely improve his diet, it's just that sometimes I forget because he's in a different part of the house from the rest of my fish so I usually just give him the pellets I keep near him rather than the variety of flakes, pellets, and frozen I do for the other guys. Thanks.
