How to clean my 2 gallon tank

So I just got a new 2-gallon tank for my betta! However, I'm trying to figure out how exactly I should conduct regular cleanings. I plan on keeping my tank in my upstairs bedroom. Before, my betta was in a tiny 1/2 gallon tank that was easy for me to carry over to the kitchen sink downstairs, dump water out, and then refill with our filtered drinking water (I use the kitchen sink downstairs because of this easy access to water). But now, my new 2-gallon tank is much heavier so I don't know if I can be carrying him up and down the stairs!

How else can I clean my tank? Ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'm making sure I have all the logistics down before I set up his tank :P Thanks!

When I had a 2 gallon for Beau, I would get a small bucket or something that was easy to carry and divide the water. So I'd have about one gallon in one container and another galllon in the other. I had to make two trips but it was easier to carry. Also, another useful thing to have is a 1 gallon jug of water. It has a top so you wont spill it and its lighter than 2 gallons of water. I bought one when I first got the betta and continued to refill it with tap water and conditioner. I used it mainly so that I know how much conditioner I need to put it. Most of them go by the gallon... But it could be useful for water changes too. Maybe you could get a funnel as well.

i always used a siphon hose and i used empty milkjugs for the water.

now that i have larger tanks i cant do that. i use a 5 gal bucket and i dont age my water like i used to do.

i would suggest you use a siphon hose and then use empty water jugs.
to get the temp right i would sit them in my bathtub and let the water fill up around them. after about 5 mins they would be ideal temp.
