Ready to start sorority?

Hello. I have a 20 gallon long with multiple plants, rocks, and a piece of driftwood. The tank is cycled and I was wondering if it's good enough to start a Sorority of 6? Or should I wait until the plants are more dense?

There isn't much cover. I would let the plants fill in--and in all honesty buy some more. You want the girls to be able to hide from each other if needed!

You could also supplement with fake plants while your others grow if you wish (or if you are planning on more aquariums in the future to use the extra plants).

But it definitely is a great start!

Yup I have to agree, more cover and probably more plants. If they are real what kind of lights do you have? Plants will do so much better with 6500k.

If you can get some, water lettuce would be great :D They grow large and have long hanging roots that provide cover at the top of the tank, which is needed since bettas are top level fish.

Silk plants can be bought inexpensively at most craft stores, and make great suppliments as well. However, there can be no exposed metal, and you'll want to soak them in a bin of water overnight to make sure they don't leak color into your tank. If they leak any color at all, then you'll want to try a different silk plant.
