They are an amazing set of fish. I love the unique patterns and colors on them especially the male. Also the female has cute and even caudals. That is why I love DT females. They look so petite and dainty. I think they are an amazing pair and would make beautiful fry!

So my answer is GO for it!

To be honest the female looks like she may be short bodied and may possibly have a bent spine. This kind of defect is hereditary and would be heightened by the fact that they are siblings.
Here is a helpful article about double-tails.

An I see. I honestly didn't notice that they were siblings. I guess that was one of the things that I didn't put two and two together.

I would love to see a pic of the male flareing. I didn't see a bent spine on the female, but maybe I just don't know where to look?

For a DT, the female has a pretty straight spine and average body. The male is the one I'm seeing who has a dip in the head. Hmm... they are beautiful fish but will not produce you show quality bettas in the next generation. Of course, that's IF you are breeding for show quality.
If you're not, then go crazy and breed your beautiful babies... it's so gratifying to breed your own fish!
We expect a full spawn log from you!
