So I've finally got some extra cash to get my surprise male a tank I want a kit with a filter & light. So some opinions on these tanks and which would be best would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there!
All your options for a tank seem really nice and will make your little betta happy for sure. I think the first link is the best though. It is a good size and also a very reasonable price!:) but all are pretty nice!

That was actually one of the ones my friend suggested. Wonder if anyone on here has had one.

All comes down to personal choice style and room you have. Those are all great options, your betta is going to be one lucky fish!

Hi wolfiegreen,

Your first link didn't work for me but here are my thoughts on the others:

* Aqueon mini-bow 2.5g - comes with an incandescent bulb - incandescent runs hot and usually it's better to get fluorescent
* Marineland mini-bow 3g - looks pretty nice, comes with LED bulbs, which are supposed to be expensive, not too bright, but nice

Both are acrylics - supposed to be clearer than glass and less distortion, slightly better insulator. However, apparently it's easily scratched. Both are curved on front, it looks like? That might make the fish look slightly bigger.

* Marina Mermaid 2.65g - plastic, and I am personally not a fan of brightly colored girly decor =)

I'll be going in wednesday to pick one up and theres a really smart fish person there i like who may let me take them out of the box for a peak lol.
