I'd say the Marineland.

go on amazon and read the reviews on that marineland.
i have the 5 gal marineland eclipse version and i had to melt the acrylic on the top just so i could feed my heater cord through. lots of complaints about that one.
the hood is poorly designed on my version, not sure about the 3 gal.

ya tht was one of my concerns definetely a flaw thats why i was leaning towards the aqueon but did not know if the would be the right size tank for a Betta i dont want him to feel crammed and i want him to live out till his full potential. I would be getting a halfmoon by the way if that makes a difference

i heated a flathead screwdriver on the stove and then melted a slot on the top of the tank. you might want to try that but dont be like me and go down too far.

alright but actually i think i am going to go with the aqueon 5 gallon I dont want to be having to do likke 100% water changes a week i just think that will stress the fish out with so many water changes

last aqueon i had like that, the hood melted from the heat of the lamp. ;[
that filter creates a lot of current for the betta too.
mine was smaller than 5 gal though, so you might have more luck.
(if you notice my avatar you can see the intake of the filter in my old aqueon tank)

i like using amazon for the reviews, even if i dont buy from them all the time.
