Pictures of Dragonfly and his home!

Hey!
Decided to do a little photo shoot of my handsome man, Dragonfly. Plus his new home, a 5 gal Fluval Chi! Tanks a tad cloudy, and I'm still perfecting my Betta picture skills

If anyone can tell me what the white strips is on him, near his head I'd be happy! I don't remember him having it before...

It has a light haha! Seriously the water is just super murky and the light was off because I just did a 25% water change.

Will be doing a 50-75% water change soon, which I hope will make the water clear. I really want to get new gravel and some silk plants!

The light is built into the filter kind of I really like the tank! Just not my murky water haha

lol it looks like a nice tank too do you think it was the live plants that caused it? unless you had them in there for a while :P

Those are fake plants I can't keep plants alive....

Have you tried anubias or java fern? They're super hard to kill...I've bleached mine to disinfect them and they're still thriving. Even the marimo moss ball is doing fine.

I might venture into live plants some day! Probably when I get a job *dies* Does it matter to a plant that I turn the filter off at night?

Thanks He was an amazing find... considering I have only ever seen Veils and Crowns around here. Got him for 5$

Java Fern, Anubias and marimo moss balls are all low light plants. They do well in pretty much any conditions, as long as they at least have some natural light. As for the filter issue, it won't hurt the plants at all, at least for these ones, if you turn the filter off at night. Though really, in a 5 gal tank like that, you probably should leave the filter running 24/7. (I think that could mess with the beneficial bacteria that live in the filter sponge.)
