Discoloration/Black Eyes/White Lips

I don't know if I'm overreacting or not but my Betta fish started to have some brown discoloration on the top of his head a while back. Then it grew to his whole head. So I changed the tank to a 2.5 gallon filtered tank with a light. The discoloration is slowly ebbing away but now his lips are white! Not only that but both of his eyes are completely black when they weren't before! Also, it looks like his right fin in turning while as well, though I couldn't get a good picture.

How often are you changing the water? Also, does he have blotches of different color on his body that are normal for him? Usually when a betta changes color it's because conditions are better and because of marble genes. your betta might just be coloring up or have some marble in him.

I'm 90% sure that I don't change the water as often as I should... Is that why? Also, he's normally just red and blue. I don't think that he's supposed to be brown and white on his head...

Perhaps just start with cleaner water to see if he improves any.

Try 1 100% and 1 50% weekly for water changes.
