I don't think I'm meant to own bettas. I've never had anything weird or bad happen to my bettas until I learned more about them and started keeping them in larger tanks, monitored the temperature.. etc.

Twitching can be caused by external parasites or bad water quality. Can you feel out the sticky to give us more info.

I'm pretty sure it's my water. I currently have 6 bettas and 3/6 are having some sort of issue. I mentioned to my dd and he says our well water has an abundance of minerals in it. So I'm guessing that might have something to do with it. I'll also wager to guess that the 3 that are not having any problems are just stronger, or immune to it. I went out and bought API stress coat, and I'll see if that works better for my sickies than 'Tap Water Conditioner' (which from my understanding has since been bought out by API.. or something. You can't buy the same stuff I have anymore.. Does water conditioner expire? I've had this stuff for.. oh wow.. 8 years. Maybe that's their problem. D8
