The Aquascaping Thread

I really don't like the way my bettas 5 gal looks so I'm doing a makeover! I was thinking black gravel as a base with driftwood and Hygrophilia Difformis/anubias. Anyway I need some inspiration so post pictures of your tanks and discuss aquascaping!

You might want to peruse the planted tank section here - you'll find a ton of pictures and discussion on aquascaping!

That being said, here's my one of my 10g betta tanks. I have black Floramax substrate. I've since removed that large amazon sword on the right and replaced it with some stalks of ludwigia. The rest of the plants are water wisteria, anacharis, anubias, and moneywort.

Here's several hours' worth of inspiration: http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/. All the tanks there are the nicest ones I've ever seen.

I vaguely remember a thread about DIY decorations, but I can't find it. Any ideas? I'm looking to add some more excitement to my guys 2.5 tank, and soon to be 10 gallon tank!

Thanks for all the replies, I'll check out the links. @tas terracotta pots (like from a dollar store) make awesome caves while still being fish safe. Just boil them for like 20 mins to be safe. Sometimes people use styrafoam cups as decorations as well as pvc pipes/

Oo, I literally just picked some little ones up from Dollar Tree, yay! Does the styrofoam leech anything? I guess I know nothing about styrofoam, hah.

Aquascaping is so fancy I can't even handle it.
