cichlid in hiding

hi i have an 175ltr tank with malawi cichlids the bumble bee cichlid has gone into hiding and not coming out even to feed.i think it may have fry, i have had them with fry before but they have not gone into hiding before.is this normal. thanks

Love those guys.. quite aggressive and will dominate the tank if given the chance.. so one hiding all the time can be worrisome.
How are the tank parameters? What are you feeding them? Has his looks changed any? Loss of color, spots, etc?

This is a betta forum, but the mother forum hosts all different types of threads and links to other fish, including cichlids. I would check them out and ask in one of their cichlid threads to get some more answers and help. Here is the other forum..

All I can think of with him hiding is something he is not liking in the tank, whether it be a rearrange of the tank, new tank mates, illness, chemistry is off.. and as you said, possible fry.
