Exclamation this is a fatal emergencey, warning brutal photo's

okay i was checking on my brother's fish (betta, angel fish, and gourami) since the gourami fights with the betta, he gots shredded fins that's not the worst part. i checked on his tank. i see the betta not moving (breathing) with some kind of fin rot, fungus, and one of his gills stick out i just couldn't leave him there. got him out gave him salt, warming water for him on the radiator, some little ick attack (hopefully it could help just a bit) and am cleaning the little tank he used to be in. it was sooo sad. i even got pics, some people never will think this neglect would get worse, and i think my brother just signed him over to me :

what do i do?? am worried as heck!

yellowy foam? I've never heard of that... is it like fuzz? like wool?
I've seen fish with white cottony/fuzzy patches, that's usually fungus or Columnarious.

Where are these bits of... foam?

AQ salt at 2 tsp per gallon, daily 100% water change, no longer then 10 days- dissolve the salt prior to adding your guy in it.

Can't really see the fungus in the pictures, I'm sorry.. but the salt will help with the wounds and any bacteria infections he may have. It will also help with the mucus to help clean his gills.

Gouramis and bettas should never be housed together because they are both very territorial, both labyrinth breathers as well.. so makes it worse when both are always at the top getting air.

What size tank was he in?

it really dosen't matter now, he passed away this morning :( he was in a 27 (height) tank, and i had to move him into a 1 gallon. the yellow fuzz worsened when i saw him dead. and the fungus was more of clumps on him (patches on his body)
