Plant care

So I have some anacharis plants in QT right now. I did a water change on them to keep them healthy, but I don't know if they are dying on me cause a lot of the leaves fell off and it smells kinda weird and I noticed the water is kinda cloudy in their tank. Is it normal for the plants to cloud up the water and to smell weird?

Please help on taking care of them. I don't want them to die on me :(

You should have a 6500k bulb for best growth. Are they from a nearby area? Usually that means that the plants are adjusting to your water.

Sorry, what means that they are getting used to the water?

Yeah I'm probably going to have to buy a better light but I won't be able to for a while.... They aren't from a local area. I got them in my home town and brought them back to school with me

Okay So im going to buy a florescent lighting thing for the plants. Do most plants thrive with this kind of light? I would really like to add some Java fern in the tank as well

I believe this type of lighting is required for live plants.
