Spits Out Food???

first post! :]

well, i just bought two bettas the other day; a crown tail and a half moon, along with some hikari betta bio-gold

i have the 2.5g tank divided in two; theres a heater on one side and a thermometer on the other, so i can make sure the whole tank is at 78 degrees

when i feed them, the crown tail eats with no problem, but the half moon keeps spitting out its food until the pellet falls to the bottom of the tank



note: before putting them in a larger tank, i had them in a smaller divided tank, and the half moon did not have any trouble eating at the time


so what do you guys think the problem is?
