Arrow Will this work?

So, I have this empty one gallon and I want to put it into use. If I get a heater and change the water twice a week, would it be a suitable betta home? it has a light at the top and a feeding hole. And, do I need to get a filter for it?

Thanks!

I wouldn't filter it. One gallon is so small, there's no point. If if has a lid, that's good. There is nothing wrong with a one gallon tank as long as you do a 100% and a 50% water change every week for him. Just don't put too much decor (a little hiding spot would suffice) since it would overcrowd easy, and at one gallon your main goal is to give him as much swimming room as possible.

Okay! So should I get him a cave sorta thing? And perhaps a plant? It does have a lid.

Yes just try to keep it as roomy as possible. For example don't put a huge layer of gravel or whatever because that takes up a lot of room.

One live plant in a back corner and a little terracotta pot would give him lots of space to swim whilst still giving him places to hide. :)
