Please help now!

I just walked into my room and something is wrong with Sykes. He is laying on his side completely and gasping for breath. His gills are so swollen and his tummy is bloated.
I did an immediate water change and put him In a small container since he can't swim. He is trying to swim but is panicking. I put a plant to help him keep balance on something.

No history of Illness. I feed him 5 pebbles every night. 80 degree water. Added aq salt, aquari-sal, betts safe, and betts fix to water like I do with all my fish.

Hr wasn't like this earlier. Help!!!

Do you have a picture?
If he is bloated, he may be having issues swimming because of swim bladder disease. If that is the case, which it may not be, then AQ salt is going to make it worse. Epsom salt and fasting is the cure.

aquari-sal, betts safe, and betts fix
I know what bettafix is, but what are the other 2 for? and did you OD on the bettafix? I know alot of people say it works wonders but there are alot of others that say it damages their breathing organ.

how much AQ salt do you use? I Have also been told contradicting info on that as well. Some say always keep some in the tank to ward of disease, others say do not use it for more then 10 days as it destroys their liver/kidneys...

im confused
do you add these in all their waters? or did you add this just now to treat him?

I'm confused because the "added" part makes me think you just added it. And the "like i do with all my fish" makes me think you add this to all their waters.

I have heard this as well
I have also heard that Epsom salt and daily 100% water changes is better to use than AQ salt.

Depends on what you are trying to treat. Internal probles like Swim bladder and dropsy you want epsom. External problems like fin rot, you want AQ salt. Epsom can be used for the fish's whole life if need be, but supposedly AQ salt should not be used for more then 2 weeks max.

I've been told by a few people to use AQ salt to keep away fungal diseases. And I ALMOST did with Spike. Had I not posted a thread about using it before I opened the container, I would have used it.

Aqari-sal: a mild protozoan and ice preventative for sensitive species. Effectively treats : ick, parasites, velvet, sluggishness, gasping for air, flicking against rocks.
Betta safe: water conditioner.
BettFix: 2 drops per gallon.
Aq salt: 1tbsp per gallon.

I use this on all my fish. I had a bad outbreak of dieses this last year and a was told to keep them on this.

I used to keep AQ salt in my tanks as well but then people were like NOOOOOO!
So I stopped using it. Personally I would like so see some research on this, but have yet to find any. I think alot of what is "good" is just someone's opinion and then everyone read it online and then it gets repeated. But just incase, it stopped using salt unless I need to.

Sad to say...I think you overdosed this little guy.
You don't need to keep him on all that all the time.
Betta fix, aqari-sal, and AQ salt is only for treating. If you added that to his new water in his cup, remove him/do a compelte water change with ONLY the conditioner. If you wish, get some espom salt, dissolve it fully before adding fishy, do that every day.
refresh his water everyday (100% change) and add in new espom salt and conditioner.
