HEater question

I was planning on buying the Elite preset heater. Im desperate for a working heater right now since I have bought a couple that haven't been working :(

Is 50 watt too much for a 3 gallon tank?

I'm using a 50 watt for my 2 gallon, I have yet to have an issue with it. I check the temp constantly.

My fifty watt theo hydor was way too strong and it kept overheating the tank, even on the lowest setting. It even keeps my ten gallon a bit warm compared to the thermostat setting. My 25 watt heater is perfect, on the other hand!

My tank has yet to go over 78 degrees. I've been using this model in my 10 gallon and haven't had a problem either. I have good faith in the brand.
(I have had my heater and my 10 gallon for 2 years)
