Question About Sponge Filters?

Hey guys!

My quick question is, do you have to cycle sponge filters? Or can you just put them into your tank?

you don't "have to", but remember in most tanks 5+ gallons they will cycle themselves if given the chance. putting the filter in, helps the cycle, and in the end cycling is great to do it makes a better environment for your fishy =D

like any filter you pop it in. hard to cycle a filter if you don't put it in anything
