Marble HM/Marble PK Spawn Log

Well I finally decided to try and attempt a spawn with one of my newer HM males and an imported PK female.

I know the form on these two isn't the best, but since I'm new to breeding splendens I didn't want to ruin my nicer fish with my inexperience.

I also like the colour of both the male and female so fingers crossed I get some nice marble females out of it (any males except the very best will be sold).

I will start conditioning this pair at the beginning of next week, so at the moment the male is living in a 1 gallon breeding box in my sorority as my barracks are still being put together.

Here's some pictures of the pair. Male would not flare for me, and every time he was flaring, my camera didn't catch it.







The female he is chasing is the other one I am considering but she is older and bigger.

Thanks. The male isn't anything truly spectacular but he's the only male I own with the colour I'd like to reproduce.

Quizzie is beautiful. She came in with a red/blue dragon male but I had to buy him because they came as a pair.

I wish more females were sold individually. I would fill my tanks with them.

Thanks DramaQueen. I haven't started conditioning yet as I am about to finally set up my betta barracks and then I will have a spare 3ft to use as a grow-out. Also have 2-3 HM males and a couple females from Thailand due in to be my foundation breeding stock.

At the moment he is in with my girls as I let him have supervised time out of breeder's box to get some exercise. He's been there since this morning having a blast in the filter current (everyone is obsessed with the spraybar).

I am definitely looking forward to spawning this guy as he is one of my favourites out of my current stock.
