Ick always live in acid or alkaline?

Ick is always heard and known as the most common diseases in betta. But does anyone can help and explain whether it is commonly live in acid or alkaline when the fish is infected, or is it ick just can live in any pH level? I need to understand it for prevention measures and control. Thanks in advance!

Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (ich, ick, white spot disease) is the most common and persistant parasite. Ich may occur in any freshwater aquarium, so acidic or alkaline water doesn't make a difference.

The best way to prevent ich is to create a stress free environment for your betta(s) and create a frequent water changing regimen. Ich is very common to occur when you first buy or move your fish, so try not to change your fish's habitat too frequently.
