IAL and fin damage.

Googled this until my eyes got sore so gave up!

This morning I woke up and to my horror, Kyon had some fin damage. Ruled out fin rot, either the tetras have had a nibble or something in there has snagged him. Tomorrow when I don't have a screaming 3 year old I'll get the tights and check everything. Looking out for a spare tank just incase the little guys have been nipping. I bought some IAL because I heard they help repairing fin damage as well as boosting immune systems to prevent fin rot getting to his sore bits. Am I right? I know it will turn my tank water a brownish colour, which I'm fine with, tetras and bettas benefit from it which I'm happy with. Are they ok with Corys?

IAL is used on a variety of fish so I'm sure it'll be fine with cories. Maybe someone with more knowledge about the species can chime in.

Cories are a South American species just like the tetras, they enjoy the blackwater effect too. :) I use it with my cories all the time.

Thanks both :) I've bought Kyon his own 28ltr tank. About 5gal I think so if it was fin nipping it wont happen again! Bargain at £2 too :D About $3!! Was absolutely devastated when I seen the damage. It's not a lot just 2 little nicks. The IAL was off ebay so won't be with me for a few days. planning on maby some shrimp in the 5gal with Kyon again, will the IAL be ok with them? Finally managed to find a filter with really low flow too! On a roll today me thinks!

28 litres? That's more like 6.5 US gallons, I think (3.8 litres to the gallon). :)
