RANT at bad pet sitter. >.<

So, REALLY?! I gave you direct instructions on feeding my fish, and my guinea pigs. 2 pellets, every other day for the bettas, and food & water for the guinea pigs daily. How was that SO incredibly complicated? What do I come home to- all of my tanks with PILES of HUNDREDS of pellets, covered in bacteria, rotting, polluting the water, jacking up my ammonia levels. NO water in the guinea bowls, very LITTLE food bits in the other bowls. They all practically dove into the bowls when I fed them. You expected me NOT to notice? Do you really think I'm that ignorant? I TRUSTED YOU to take care of my pets while I was away for 5 days. FIVE DAYS, not like it was 3 months. On top of it, an exploded BOTTLE ROCKET sitting on my counter? What the BLEEEP happened? I was even going to PAY you for taking care of them. Grgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrrr.

Sorry guys, but this just made me SO angry. I left for Montana on Monday, got back Friday and my tanks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. My poor guinea pigs were screaming at me when I came through the door, they were so hungry.

Anyone else ever had a bad pet-sitter experience?

It was my friend's sister. My friend is in the process of moving and couldn't feed them, so she volunteered. -.-

I hope you expressed your disappointment to her. You ought to, because she could have killed your fish.

I agree. I was in a similar situation, and I am going to loose a girl out of it. I'm going to get those little pill keepers elderly people use except it'll be one per fish.

Haha, that is a good idea, that way they can't over feed unless they are too stupid.

The problem is I have to find 7. And thats not including any fry I might have at the time. (which will be super stressful while I'm gone)

the only person that i know over flows fish tanks with pellets was a 4 year old boy, wow so immature. sorry to hear about that though. at least there alive from the tragedy/

Poor piggies and bettas. I couldnt imagne how u must feel. My sister has a guinea pig that i love like my own. If my sister goes to sleep without feeding her, even though she plans on doing it in the morning I still feed her before bed because I dont want her to be hungry. I also took over and feed her the hay and buy it, haha. I dont understand how anyone could not relize that they were over feeding if the tanks looked like that.

Wow that's horrible. :( why are people so ridiculous.
I'd probably try and find a professional pet sitter if I had to leave the animals. The dogs would always go with us, and the snake doesn't mind being alone for a week, but I have fish now! They are a huge responsibility :D
