I don't understand why petsitters don't understand that your instructions regarding your animals are correct. Don't they think you might actually know what is best for them?

i think it has to do with how they were brought up and the fact the fish will eat themselves silly (cant forget the hunger dance). my parents neighbor had a betta in a tiny vase, she fed a pinch of FD BW. he never ate it all BC he was in unheated water. humans assume too easily that what they can eat is a similar amount that other animals can. i told her the size of a betta's stomach but it didnt click either way. i can easily see the uninformed think they're still hungry BC they still beg for food any time you walk past the fish.
