No, betta are carnivores/insectivores, and their bodies aren't designed to properly digest plant matter.

As Olympia mentioned, bettas digestive tracks aren't designed for fruits and/or veggies; however, you could try feeding him some live food, such as fruit flies. If you have the space, you can set up a little area to cultivate them, then catch a few to feed to your betta. You can also feed certain types of live worms, but I would ask a more experienced member if there are certain types you may want to avoid.

That's brilliant! I hate fruit flies more than any other insect! I think the idea of cultivating some fruit flies for Kyon is the best I've seen all week!

Don't give me all the credit. I've seen people mention it before and I think it's a good idea to try.

You hate them, but wanna raise em? :p
Theres a type called wingless fruit flies, as the name suggests they have no wings, making them MUCH easier to deal with. They're used for tiny reptiles, so an exotics store could set you up with a small culture probably, or you could find a culture online.

Lol tbh the idea sounds great but doing it is another thing! The reason I don't like them is because they are so damn annoying!
