How Much Food?

I have heard varying opinions on the amount of food to feed a betta.
What would be reccomended: 1 pellet 3x a day, 2 pellets 2x a day, 2-4 pellets 1x a day?

I find twice a day unnecessary. As much as he or she can eat in 2-3 minutes once a day is plenty as far as I am concerned. :)

I think it also depends on your fishie. I feed mine once a day every morning, though I might go back and give 'em one or two more balls at night a few days a week. He's certainly not starving. Once a week I feed him some bloodworms for a meal. Very infrequently I'll give him a pea.

i feed my betta 4 pellets a day - two in the morning, and two in the evening. i give him one day of fasting, to keep his bowels in check (a trick my super great LFS told me- since bettas can get constipated easily)

He's getting about 4 pellets. I gave him three this morning, 'cause that's what came out of the package. I might give him 2 more tonight, I might not. If he only gets 2 in the morning, then he'll get 2 more that night.

He is quite a big fish, approx. 2.5 inches long, not including tail fins.

It all depends what works for you as long as you don't overfeed, and I don't think you are overfeeding. What I said was only what I personally find works for me.

Tophat - I am not often called wise, thank you! :)
