I think my female is carrying eggs?

I've recently noticed my female betta getting bigger around her stomach. There's also a thing white thing just under her belly that I've only just noticed. There is a male in the tank with her, but he hasn't built a bubble nest.
I'm hoping it's eggs and not a sickness. I've never had a female before so I'm not sure what to do.

I've tried to take a photo of her to show you but she's still so lively that she wont stay still for long enough at the moment. I might be able to take one later.

Are they living together or is the tank divided?

All females get eggy in the presence of a male.

Do not breed them unless you are 100% sure you're doing it correctly.

I hope they're in a divided tank. Males and females should never be housed together except for breeding purposes only. Are you wanting to breed your bettas?

They're together because I just picked them up from mum's, she was looking after my male for me because I was in the middle of moving out and she decided he was lonely. I'll have to separate them. Thanks guys.

All females always carry eggs which then "ripens" when a male is present, making her look fatter.
All females will always show an egg spot (white dot under the belly) regardless breeding or not. This is the passage from which the eggs will come out.

I agree with everyone about them being together.
