I'm moving and am taking a plane to get there. My greatest fear is getting there and getting some luck of the draw mean TSA agent who won't allow me to go through with my betta fish (even if the water is less than 3 oz.) I'd then be forced to either flush my betta fish, abandon it, or not get on the plane, neither of which I want to do!
So I thought I could ship my betta fish via USPS overnight flat rate. I'm shipping from New Orleans so it's pretty hot here: will that be a problem?
I figure I'd have to get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/TETRA-1-5M-FIS...909785&sr=8-25
(Maybe less of them? Is there a place I can?)
I'd also need to package this with bubble wrap and peanuts and put the flat rate box in a ziplock of some sort per USPS regulations.
If I do this, what are the chances my fish won't make it? It's a risk either way. If he dies in transport I'll be devastated, if I have to flush him, I'll be devastated.
ALSO: I'd be shipping him to someone who'd pick him up and take care of him before I arrived.
