Opinions Needed!

Picked up three HM females today, and I was wondering which has the best body quality for breeding. At the moment they are recovering from being in a sorority, so their colors are still fairly washed out and there's some fin rips, but they'll heal over soon.

What I'm asking, is which female was the most blanced finnage? I'm getting better at seeing that in males, but females are still hard for me to determine. Also, what should I look for in a male to balance her out? Sorry for the bad photos, I had to snap them quick.

I think once healed the third female would be very balanced in terms of finnage, I think in a male you would be looking for one with very bright colours (to give brightest colours in fry(if you wanted to breed)), maybe a mustard gas (to go with female number 3), and as balanced finnage as possible. Other than that can I just say OMG THEY GORGEOUS!!!

The first one has a better HM tail, imo.. the 3rd looks to be a delta? Or a HM without the 180.. how big/old are they?

It's up to you really. They're all similar but the blue girl has the nicer fins of them all.

I think the 3rd female would price best results. Do you know there genes? Any recessive traits in there?

Mr.V, I agree. She's the smaller bodytype of the three, but I love her color and the overall form does seem the best.

Mo, I'm afraid I don't know bloodlines on these girls. Guess I'll see what comes out from the pairing. (:

Oh okay. Colors will be a mix and you could easily end up with colors hat originally weren't from the mother and father of this spawn. That is the primary reason why when creating a strain can be difficult with pet store bettas. There genes are unknown for the most part

Yeah, as much as I would have loved to get a really nice strain from Aquabid, my parents want me to have some spawns under my belt before going into that stuff. However, I'm going to contact the seller of male #1 and see if I can get some background on his bloodline.
