Exclamation Betta Ate Tadpole

My friend had a tadpole tank which her betta jumped into. He ate about 3 tadpoles. Is this okay? Will he live? We removed him asap!

he should be fine. bettas love live foods, and some people actually feed their bettas livebearer fry as a treat. just make sure he can't get back in there, unless you want him to eat some tadpoles.

If it is an indoor tank and the tadpoles are tadpoles your friend bred then most likely they he/she will be fine, although we can safely say your friend wont be getting the tadpoles back-or at least not in one piece! If they were tadpoles caught in a pond then I would recomment treating the betta with parasites medication just to be on the safe side :)

ahh, well best to give one smaller than usual dose of parasite treatments to get rid of any parasites before they take hold, there may not even be any parasites but if there are they're a pain to get rid of unless you treat straight away.

A couple of years ago, another member posted pics of her Betta eating a tadpole. It didn't hurt him.
