Another thing I want to test just because i'm curious now, is how long my computers UPS will run my air pumps lol.

A few air pumps would probably consume less energy then a computer and a monitor.

Thank you for bringing this up though, because I am eventually going to get another tank running with balloon mollies. I probably wouldn't have given it much thought until I couldn't use my computer to see what to do lol.

In my case, I live in Wisconsin where it's super cold in the winter! If I lost power in the winter, I'd move my fish to beside the fireplace. If I lost power at college, I' probably move him to a smaller container, cover it with something super warm, and wait.

If the tank has a reasonable biological load, aerators are not absolutely necessary.

The plants would probably hold the fish up, along with regular gas exchange.

I'm fairly sure tetras don't need aeration, snails don't need it.
