silver chin?

I was just wondering if this waw common with bettas and what the cause would be?the betta acts healthy, no clamped fins, no spots, nothing.

water temp is 80, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 10, ph 7.2

its basically just a discoloration under his chin, it even goes away when he flares out his gills, and stays away when he stops, but then it'll slowly randomly come back, coming and going many times throughout the day. just wondering what the cause would be of this coloration? possibly from being bored or something?[/i]

I think you're making too much of it. It's probably nothing to worry about.

I would say it's just the lighting playing tricks, scales reflect light in strange ways sometimes.

I think it's probably just his colouring, and the reflection of the light.

Post a photo if you ant to be sure but I don't think it's anything to worry about. :)
