Anubias is great for a low-maintenance betta tank. While it's slow-growing it needs next to no light or fertilisation to do well.

I have an anubias flowering currently that gets only ambient light and no added fertilisers.

Bettas enjoy resting on the broad leaves, and it can be left floating, which will encourage bubble-nesting, or fastened using fishing line or cotton to wood and rocks. You just can't bury the rhizome into the substrate as it will rot.
