HELLO! My name is Mark and I've adopted an Petco abused Betta and he is currently thriving in my 6 Gallon Cycled Fluval Edge :).
He is a a Double Tail w/ Veiltail like properties. (I'll post pics soon) His name is Chuck Norris and he's survived some kids shaking a cup in Petco. I walked in looking for a pet for my office and I saw kids shaking up his cup, saw me coming, dropped the cup. I quickly ran over and picked it up and called for a Petco rep to fill it back up with water. Felt bad for the guy and I went ahead and bought him. I was uneducated at first, I just bought one of those half gallon decorative cube tanks. Slowly after watching youtube and reading up in one month I converted his home to a swanky 6 gal Fluval Edge. Finish cycling it last January. Few live plants and water has been perfect. He has no issues with the opening on the top.. He just darts up there for either air or food, very smary guy.
I recently had an emergency i posted in the emergency section but all is well with him. Glad to be apart of this forum. I bought 2 other Betta and I am now in the process of working on their tanks as well. Saved a sick Betta w/ popeye and terrible finrot from Walmart - his name is Thunder and the third i obtained from a breeder, his name is Samurai cuz of his sword fan fins. :)
