This is basically just me asking people to indulge my curiosity. I've seen a HUGE amount of variety when it comes to the number of bettas people own on this forum, and more importantly, where they keep them-- and I'd kind of like to know more, because personally I think fishkeeping (and how people stay sane despite it) is uber-fascinating.
So! TELL ME ABOUT YOUR TANKS, GUYS. How many bettas do you have, if any, and what size tanks do you keep them in? Any sororities? NPTs? (What about non-bettas?) How many levels of your current housing unit do you keep fish on? (Have you ever caught yourself wondering 'I wonder what a tank would look like on the bathroom counter'?) Feel free to gush and enthuse and complain about water changes, if you'd like.
I'll start!
In the kitchen: Two 2.5 gallons, for Isaac and Idaho One 3.5 gallon, for Veetor
(+One 1 gallon hospital bowl, for Kal) One 4 gallon, currently cycling
In the living room: Two 10 gallons, one for dividing (the eventual home of Kal and Veetor) and one as an eventual sorority. Both currently cycling. One 5 gallon, currently cycling
In the bedroom: Two 2.5 gallons, for Ross and Taffler
So: six bettas, with three open spots (plus sorority potential), in nine (and a half) tanks.
Well, mine are in my signature, but hey, I'll write them out here too. :p
In the kitchen/computer room: Planted 5 gallon: Odysseus and an RCS colony 29 gallon: the comet goldfish (not mine, don't judge!)
In my bedroom: Heavily planted 16.4 gallon: the sorority (currently 5 girls) and community (5 ember tetras, 11 Endlers Livebearers, 3 cories, 2 fundulopanchax gardneri gardneri and some RCS)
So for me, 6 bettas in two tanks. :p Up until very recently it was 7 in two, but Medea died. :(
Bomba how do you fit that many fish peacefully in there?! :p gee I have trouble with more than one fish in a tank!
My bedroom:
2.5 gal- plant nursery
2.5 gal- Maja's home
15 gal, divided: 5 gall- Gilbert, 10 gal- Reuben, rabbit snail, 2 cories
20 gal, empty until renos are done- will have whiptail catfish, threadfin rainbows, and fork tail blue eyes/spotted blue eyes (can't decide), maybe a Cory school or something else that handles cooler water well.
I'm only allowed fish in my room (which is TINY.) But with renos I hope for a large shelving unit for more tanks and some plants. :D Posted via Mobile Device

I don't want any grief about the one gallons pretty please. I clean them and care for them all properly. period :)
2gal: Female VT, Ann. In there right now until I can get a breeding net to keep her in while I feed my cories, because she'll gobble up their entire sinking pellet and get bloated every time. Silly girl.
15h: My sorority, with my five other girls, plus four habrosus cories. Was six, but two of them fell prey to SBD. =\ There are some tiny tiny snails in there, too, which came in secretly on a plant I bought from a pet store.
Would love to try having a male someday, too. My suitemates have a beautiful deep blue CT, and I feed him and change his water when they're away, and I'm starting to get really attached... if I can muster up the courage, I'm going to ask to keep him when their lease runs out.
