prime dosing

So many folks on here like prime conditioner that I switched recently from my aqueon to prime- I do like it better as it removes ammonia too (contrary to my other conditioner). But the dosing is so small! Good financially, but 5ml per 50gal?? My tanks are 5 and 10gals. I can do the math... But I'm just wondering how other folks are dosing, as many on here sound like they have tanks even smaller than 5gal- When I do water changes I am usually doing 25-50% changes, using clean 1gal pitchers. I've been just adding a few drops to each pitcher (1gal). Any advise on how to dose prime for smaller volumes? Are folks using droppers?

Huh. I've always used a drop per gallon. Adding a few extra is not necessarily bad either because of different things in different water sources.

1 drop per gal is likely about right- 1cc per 10gal. That's pretty much what I do too i was just wondering if that's what others do-

I use a 1 cc syringe and dose at 0.1 cc per gallon.

That's what I hear most often suggested around here. It's what I dose.

I probably waste a lot of it, but I just squirt it in the clean water bucket usually about 5 drops a squirt. I sometimes give an extra squirt just to be sure lol.

For my smaller tanks, I use about 2-4 drops per gallon, depending on if I am treating tank for illness.
For my larger tanks, I use my 5g bucket, and like freemike, just put a squirt in.

I am using Prime for long time now and it 2 drops per gallon. I have 50 ml prime bottle and in the directions: Use 2drops for each 4 l (1 us gall). And the bottle has dropper lid.

Now if you bight a bigger bottle it will have different instructions for bigger tanks ,only because it bigger bottle. The directions are still the same for a gallon- 2 drops. And also the dropper lid will fit all sizes bottles.

I think it better to put one extra drop than less.

For 5 gall even for 10 gall really recommend to do 50 % regular water changes . Especially for 5 gall. I do 50% every week and 100% every 3 weeks for my 5 gall :) +
regular gravel siphoning and rinse filter media if you have one :)
