I guessed it was as most people use filters one every tank, even if it is too small of a tank.

Make sure you get a good light specifyly for plants. You may have to order one online if your tank doesn't have a hood. They make lights that clip on, fluval and Tom I know for sure have one. Another good thing about plant setups is the light is bright, so your fish's color really pop. If you want help with everything, PM me, Mo, or Oldfishlady. Their are lots of other members that can help you. I just don't keep track of all the names.

I am able to purchase a fluorescent light today.

But I cannot find how much Kelivn it puts out. I looked all overthr box and the bulb. Nottin.

I would get the ultra sun instead. Same bulb and everything, even same watts. The ultra sun gives off 6700k, I have 2 of those bulbs and all my plants are doing good.

BTW, how much of a difference would about 1000K make? Cause the one I linked has a Marineland version that has about 5100k.

You want to aim for around 6500k if you are using one bulb. This will give plants the maximum light and will benefit them greatly.

The one linked would be good, if you had a 6500k one as well. My T5 fixture has two bulbs, so I have a red bulb, so the plants get nice reds, and a super sun so it is lit brightly and that is also food for the plants.
