I know nothing about bettas. I bought one today and just hoping he lives through the night. He is not very active and swims around the top of the tank a lot. What does that mean? I have him in 2.5 gallon tank with plants and castle and rocks. I have not got a heater yet but plan too soon when i can. Will my fish still be fine without a heater. I don't know the temp of my water, will this cause a problem?. I had goldfish in the same tank yesterday and they were dead the next morning. So I am kinda worried here that i am doing something wrong.
well, despite popular myth, goldfish need HUGE tanks. they probably built up too much ammonia and died that way. x:
did you clean the tank out after the goldies died? 2.5 gallons is fine for a betta, and since it's summer, he should be okay without a heater until you can get one. .3.
