super nervous! putting the girls in today!

so i just have to finish up some final tank touches and then i will putting the girls in!

it's a 10 gallon. i wanted 20 but i decided i can't wait. so i'm starting with one of my 10 gallons. i do have 7 females. but there are a few i'm unsure will suit the sorority. and theres one teeny tiny girl i'm treating for being super bloated.

any tips would be great!! i've read all the stickies and other threads but anything is helpful!

Have they gotten used to seeing eachother?
I've found that the best way to aclimate females to each other is to float them in the tank for a few days so they can see eachother but not have any contact.
You can float them in cups or bags for 2-3 days before releasing them.
I've added many females through the year to already established sororities with no problems. There will be some light pecking because it's what they do but I've had to real damage so far.

they've actually been floating with each other in the tank for 2 days now. some of them have been flaring a lot. while others could care less. they just want out. lol. and 4 of the girls i've had a few months already in divided tanks next to each other. thats how i know i may have a few issues with them... one of my girls actually attacked one of my males. he didn't make it. :[ but i decided i wanted to try with her anyways. maybe she would be okay, if not i've got a place to put her!

She could be ok. Some females are very aggresive to males because they want to breed but they will be ok among "sisters".
Best of luck releasing them and don't worry about some light pecking... it's normal :)

I think it may be a bit to open. Try floating plants and tall decorations or tall plants as well. Here's my sorority tank and I would be happy with more coverage:
