Tank is going to look amazing!

FWIW, transferring water will not help cycling as nitrifying bacteria is in the substrate and filter media. Very little is in the water column.

Haha! More stuff for my tank! I got a cool new piece of hollowed out driftwood as a cave and glued a bunch of moss to it with plant glue (didn't know that was a thing!) I also got some floating plants but I think Im gonna get some giant duckweed to use too at some point. There was also a wallpaper thing but It wasnt the right size so I'm hoping to exchange it for a better one.

The Forum's tutorial. I would wait and do the fish-in cycling below. If you follow exactly and use products recommended the tank will cycle with no issues. Prime is of utmost importance as it neutralizes Ammonia and Nitrites for 24-48 hours. I continue testing for two or three weeks after the water reads 0 ppm Ammonia and Nitrite.

Or, you could use filter media from another tank in addition to the media in the filter. But you will need an Ammonia source to feed the nitrifying bacteria. A snail or occasional dose of flake fish food will work.

I use SeaChem Stability when cycling tanks. Double dose on Day #1 and regular dose Day #2-8.

Aquarium
I think they are both beautiful. Just be prepared for some fun when they do breed.

It has come to my attention that this guy is a marble and therefore his colors will change. I still love him and Im sure he will be beautiful even after changing but I was curious If anybody knows how to stabilize the marble gene in hopes that his offspring may not change. I'm not sure if this is technically possible but if be willing to try no matter how difficult. Especialy since kois are kinda a stabilised marble gene, right?

Side note: When should I expect his volors to start changing? And for his offspring as well that way I can be sure not to sell anyone fish wrongly.

Something like this should cover it: These are marble Betta. They carry the marble gene which means they can change color and pattern over their lifetime. What you see is the way they look now.

Not all Koi retain their pattern.

PS: Asking the question on marbles in a separate thread might get you more informed answers as the question is somewhat lost in this thread on your new tank.
