Boy or girl and can you tell the type yet??

I got this little guy and one other (I’m still try to get a good pic of that one) a week or so ago at petco. The container said male but I’m not so sure, any thoughts? And can you tell what type he/she is yet? I’m sure it might be to early for that yet. Thanks!

I think it is a girl, it has a thin body shape and short fins. How big is it?

Right now at this time because the picture is so small you can't tell. Since you are there and can see better then we can Look closely and see if you can see two dark spots on either side of the body. If you can those are ovaries and that would mean she is a girl. If there are no spots visible then I would be certain He is a boy. You can't really tell yet about the type because he needs to grow a little more.

However if you could get a better side close up and much larger We might be able to tell more.

I'm leaning towards female - fins are too small for a male. And guessing a traditional type; either VT or PK - rays too few.

I think female also. It looks like she has the little female "belly" with the eggs. You could also check underneath her belly for the egg spot. It's pretty noticeable on my female.
