I hightailed it right over there and made the boy pick up every piece of garbage we could find on the playground. I was really proud of my kid for standing up for what was right. Everyone's dogs in this post are gorgeous. I am a 'cat person' but I also have two dogs, two Chihuahuas (aged 9). I certainly agree with watching some Victoria Stillwell, she was great when training my dogs. My dogs don't go potty outside though (we live in Canada which isn't really habitable for them to go outside 8 months of the year due to snow and the such) but we pad trained them no problem using positive reinforcement. Definitely play with Takoda's mouth/paws, we really regret not doing that with our dogs as now my dogs have had to have so many extractions due to their teeth rotting (my boy dog, Gilbert, would take your hand off if you tried to stick it in his mouth to brush his teeth) and now actually has to have surgery tomorrow to remove MORE rotting teeth that have actually, this time, caused a swollen abscess to form on his face 😞

Marine biology/vet school, all these cool courses you guys are taking I feel almost lame going to law school in the end of September-to be fair though, philosophy, my undergrad, was lot's of fun.
Law school isnt lame!! I did a competition called moot court last year where we got a mock case and had to argue one of the sides. It was SO much fun and i got second place on my side! I almost decided I wanted to pursue law AND veterinary but in the end realised id be in school my whole life if i did everything i wanted to😂 good luck with law! I hear law school is pretty hard but I believe in you! if you put your mind to it and work hard im sure youll do great!

I finally was able to get a dentist appointment for 2 weeks from now. ( I have a very bad tooth ache.) Got a call last night asking if I wanted to come in today they had a cancellation I said sure. I showed up for the appointment. Filled out all their forms, giving all my Medical history. Where it said what tooth it was I told them the one (only one) top right side. They proceeded to take x rays of every other tooth but the one that was bad.

Dentist came in and asked which tooth hurt. Again I told him. He told me that he didn't have an x ray of that tooth, so he'll get one right away. (Oh it gets better.) After the x ray he comes back in and and says Yep you got a real bad tooth there. (NO CRAP) Well here's what we're going to do. (stupid me I thought he was going to pull it and put me out of pain.) Wrong!!!! he gave me a script for antibiotics (a 10 day course) and preceded to tell me when I came back he would pull the tooth. (When I came back????) Yeah they scheduled me for October 16th (thank God it was this year.)

My wife knowing that I have a very low threshold for pain and stupidity Told them thank you very much and pushed me out the door. I got home went out to the garage and opened my tool box, pulled out a good size vice grip (didn't bother cleaning it ) and pulled the dam tooth. (Oh yeah it hurt like a Well it hurt) My wife found out what I did , Gave me the meanest look and smacked me up side my head. She went in and called our family Doctor and we went down to see him. I had a bloody tee shirt in my mouth and they took me right in.

I never thought a doctor said those words, (at least to a patient). But all turned out well. I no longer have a tooth ache, Or a tooth for that matter. I canceled the dentist appointment. and I have a thirty day supply of pain pills. AND NO PAIN. I had a great day how about you.

Holy cow!!

Glad you finally got your tooth sorted but yikes! I would have had to drink my courage to pull that off.
I keep thinking about the scene from Castaway now with the iceskate. 😬 Hope it wasn't that unpleasant.

Thank you. Each one of us has a threshold for pain. when it gets to a point of either or, you do what you have to do. As a driver of many years I had to do the same thing a few times so I could continue to work. Yes it hurts like Heck but when it's all over the relief is fantastic. Like hitting your head against a wall, It hurts so much until you stop and then it really feels good. Today the pain is gone along with the tooth and I finally was able to get a good nights sleep. (the first sleep in days.) Yeah I'll take being thought of as nuts but I don't have the pain.

Toothache is its own individual form of torture, isnít it?

The old style technique used to be to tie a string round the tooth, tie the other end to a door handle, then get someone to slam the door. :)
Fortunately, Iíve never needed such measures (yet!).

70litre tank: mature setup; betta, purple rasboras, male guppies, amano and wood shrimp. Heavily planted.
22litre cube tank: (Tagawa); betta, yellow dwarf shrimp. Pond snails and 1 assassin. Heavily planted.
Midnight in the 57litre tank (Midnight) ember tetras, 1 amano, 1 ghost, 1 nerite, pond snails, 1 assassin, doing his thing. Heavily planted.
200litre tank; honey gourami, cherry barbs, green neons, otocinclus, nerites, pond snails, amano. Heavily planted.

Some pics from today's walk. Had a good one.
The leaves on this tree was neat.

So my boss called and needs me to work tomorrow. So unfortunately I had to cancel a date and not have to go in to work. At least it's time and a half. Might buy more dog toys and other pet stuff lol.

Well, B keeps getting bigger. When we took him to the vet for his neuter about 2 weeks ago he was 60lbs and all muscle. I was told he is the largest Siberian at his age (just hit 6months) to come through there. Not sure if I have a husky or a horse! The techs were shocked to see how much he's grown in 2 short months. They all got very attached to him in his short stay and made us promise to bring him in to visit before his check up next year.

Also, been migraine free for almost two weeks now after a month straight of on and off misery. Still getting auras like vision changes and hand numbness/tingling but no pain. If anybody here gets migraines and has found something that works for them, I would love to know! I take Excedrin migraine and an rx medication, but they don't help much after awhile.

I have pretty rough migraines frequently since I had my stroke a little over a year ago. To be honest the best thing I have found is doing the keto diet. Lots of neat science there if you want to look at it.
I tried CBD oil but it did not help.
I also take Excedrin migraine when I do have one come up.

May I ask what kind of food / food you're feeding your "puppy"? Lol

Lol he eats Wellness Core Raw Rev Puppy. I'm estimating he'll be around eighty pounds when he's done growing. At least I'm hoping that's as big as he'll get.

CBD didn't do boo for me either. I've tried cutting out certain foods, but haven't tried any special diets. I'm tiny so it always scared me a bit to go on one. If I can do it without losing weight I'll definitely look into it.

My migraine trigger is a combo of citrus, caffeine and dairy.

Took me AGES to work it out! It is so easy to combine those 3 things in a few hours, and no doc or test would ever have thrown it up. I can have any 2 of those with no migraine, but add the 3rd, and wham!

Most people could have all three of those almost daily, just at breakfast, without blinking.

I suggest keeping a very detailed diary (food, drink, lifestyle) for a while, and try to spot any patterns.
